Endorsement for a Special two-yearlong Handcrafted Jewelry Program with Export Feasibility by ICT Division

A two-year long handcrafted jewelry project was endorsed by the ICT Directorate of the ICT Division in May 2024, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between a2i and SFCP (formerly E-Creatives) on January 4, 2024. The signatories were Mr. Mamunur Rashid, Project Director of a2i, and Ms. Tahmina Shaily of SFCP (formerly EC). The Proposal, prepared and developed by SFCP following the Finance division’s guidelines for their Special Programs, is a unique initiative aimed at empowering marginalized women entrepreneurs in Cox’s Bazar and Dhaka. The proposed project was reviewed by an expert Ministerial committee. The innovative concept of exploring the export potential of handcrafted jewelry for the first time was highly appreciated for its focus on export diversification.
