Creative Learning Using Scratch Programming

This project aimed to develop comprehensive Scratch learning resources in Bengali and promote creative coding among school children in Bangladesh. Implemented from January to October 2025 and generously supported by the Scratch Foundation, the initiative sought to make computational thinking and creative programming accessible, engaging, and culturally relevant for young learners.

The project focused primarily on students from classes 3 to 12. Through structured workshops and project-based learning sessions, participants were introduced to Scratch fundamentals and encouraged to create interactive stories, animations, and games. The initiative also engaged teachers, parents, and civil society members to ensure a supportive environment for continued learning beyond the workshops.

A dedicated team of experts and volunteers designed, translated, and published Scratch learning materials in Bengali. Their efforts included developing instructional content, facilitating interactive sessions, and promoting resources across various channels. This dedication was instrumental in achieving the project’s objectives and ensuring a meaningful impact.

The proactive support the Institute for Environment and Development (IED), participating schools, and institutions greatly contributed to the project’s success. Their willingness to host workshops and embrace creative coding provided students with valuable opportunities to explore and experiment.

Learner responses were overwhelmingly positive. Many children demonstrated curiosity and creativity in making their first digital projects. In a world increasingly shaped by machine learning and artificial intelligence, programming literacy has become essential-not to turn every child into a programmer, but to foster problem-solving, logical thinking, self-expression, and programming language at https://learnscratch.site. These resources are designed to make coding accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for students of all ages.

To reach a wider audience, all materials are published in Bengali, ensuring that students across Bangladesh can easily learn, understand, and apply programming concepts without language barriers. The series includes tutorials, project-based exercises, and interactive examples, enabling learners to develop computational thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity.

Through this initiative, SFCP aims to democratize digital education, inspire young minds to explore coding, and cultivate the next generation of innovators who can contribute to technology-driven growth in their communities.
