SFCP, alongside the EDRC, visited Imaging Beauty Parlor in Manipuri Para, Tejgaon — one of more than a hundred such parlors run by Garo women entrepreneurs across Dhaka — with Ziaul Haque, an SME manager at BRAC Bank, in attendance.
The visit highlighted the case for connecting these entrepreneurs to formal finance: a potential partnership with BRAC Bank could open up working capital and mentorship that this community of business owners has largely had to do without. It’s a clear example of what happens when financial institutions engage directly with marginalized-led businesses.
